applemenu

The applemenu build pulls (from?) a lot of Oracle/GPL licensed files.

This means IMHO that a binary release cannot contain the applemenu
subsystem.

Hopefully not that much. Yes, that's something that should be done.

Hi Jan,

is it possible to build a jar (at least clearly separate from apache
licensed code) from those compile time deps and make this easier to audit?

Probably a lot of work, no?

I am afraid there are quite a few dependencies (besides this one). I
suppose we will need to go through them, and determine if we can use them,
and if not, what are we going to do.

In the specific case of applemenu, the issue may be smaller, because (among
others) this is only a compile-time dependency (so that compilation does
not require JDK 9, but JDK 9 can be leveraged at runtime). But the overall
handling here is not ideal, this is one of the things that we had to pull
out for the donation.
