New Implementation: Logger-level Filtering

Just wondering if there is any interest by the log4j community in the
functionality I have implemented , mentioned in the following thread:

I don't mean to repeat my post from the "log4j - user" forum from about a
year ago, but my perceived usefulness of the functionality has prompted me
to give it a shot on this group.
