--- Comment #3 from Edwin Sharp <el...@mail-page.com> ---
This bug was opened as a follow up to bug 123399, where author suggested an
enhancement:
"Note that I cannot create a label page with text attributes like bold or
italics or change the font. Those options are not available in the labels
creation window. So I have to edit every one of the 30 labels on the page
after I press NEW DOCUMENT, or cut and paste my edits 30 times. Text
attributes for the label creation window would be a nice improvement."

And if my assumption is correct:
why only in that dialog, but not in the normal 'Insert -> Fields -> Database'
dialog and similar ones?

Where is the advantage of that suggestion, who will get benefit of it?
To be honest, I do not think that someone really needs that. You can't imagine
how that will look while you are in the 'Add Fields' step ...

@Edwin:
What exactly are your intentions?

Currently I can't see necessity for such a feature. Without a consistent
overall plan this feature will not come.

Created attachment 81700

Sample Document

NOT reproducible (?) with attached sample document (created for this issue) and
"AOO 4.0.1 RC3 – German UI / German locale [Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20
11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile
used for all predecessor versions with steps as following:

1. Create similar document or open attachment
2. Top left label click left from "Identifier" field
   > Caret flashes in line with field, left from "Identifier" field
3. <shift+rightarrow>
   > Marks all "Identifier" field
4. Click 'Bold' Icon in Format toolbar (Or use menu 'Format -> Character', does
   not matter)
   Nothing unexpected

@Edwin: Neither Summary nor your report describe a problem or a suggestion. Do
you want to see some formatting features already in the 'Insert Fields' Dialog?

Document with label synchronization

Author Gene DeJoannis of Bug 123399 is wrong, there is a simple way to spread
formatting details from 1 label to all others, see here
<https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Creating_and_Printing_Labels_and_Business_Cards>
(it's all the same in AOO). If that box has been checked during creation of
documents, linked Sections will be created, and contents of first label will be
transferred to the other labels with the "Synchronize labels" button in the
floating button bar.

For a test please see my second sample attached here.

But to be honest, I don't know how to activate the Synchronization function if
I forgot that during document creation (or for other documents), I doubt that a
solution exists.

So the real request might be for a possibility to created those linked sections
subsequently? But I doubt that there will be a chance ...

@Edwin: Please always mention such relations to other bugs or whatever, without
that knowledge nobody can understand the request.
