Scots Gaelic
Ok, I'll have a bash at maintaining Gaelic (again) as I've heard from
someone that you can do that by "proxy".
The current version is full of junk so I'll start from scratch - could
someone please bundle me blank po files (just AOO, not Help) for en > gb
an email them or put them somewhere for download? I'll work on them and
when I'm done I'll upload them and provide a link where an admin can
grab them and commit them (over-writing what's there at the moment).

it has ben fixed few hours ago, sorry to be late answering you but I spent
the last hours enjoying TAP Portugal delays.
As a general rule we keep under control the few spam messages that can get
through the filters, unfortunately Extensions' authors can't take care of
spam themselves with the actual site.

Hiya,
I have a problem that doesn't seem to fit any list and I'm only
subscribed to this one these days so I might as well as here ;)
I have a spellchecking extension
(http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/project/faclair-afb) and
we've just picked up a spam comment but I cannot for the life of me find
some way of deleting it or a setting that requires approval of future
comments. Any ideas what to do?

Probably not unless you've done something - I did not include the Help
files in the zip - I don't have access to the en-US Help files and it's
probably quicker if Jürgen grabs them from the source to overwrite them
over the current version.

I've made a build for
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=117857 and everything
looked ok according to Michael.
I've found some warnings with the PO files, see
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=120708#c2 but I've no idea
what they mean, nor know if they are critic, at least building didn't
break.
Applying the PO files will result in a en-US Online Help, as requested

Yes, drop the existing "stuff", it's not really a translation. I think
someone ran an algorithm, matching a short wordlist against words
occurring in the help files and then, without any manual intervention,
submitted that. In a word, it's cr**. Replacing it with en-US at least
ensures that users get help files they can understand rather than
gibberish.

Ok, in which case the most painless way is probably to wait for a
nightly build/release candidate and for me to check if it's ok, rather
than sending you off chasing code. Do we have rcs/nightlies?

The DTD doesn't say this explicitly, but all instructions are uppercase
for both date and time format. You can find the DTD in

It has some interesting comments and hints, like the one for
OOO_ENABLE_LOCALE_DATA_CHECKS

default="false" means it's not treated as the default format for that
usage and type. Note that there can be only one default="true" per usage

Once you attach the new version to the bug, I can commit this in trunk
and you can try it with a nightly build; unfortunately, the only build
bot finishing its build is the Linux 64 bits bot.

Good point actually, this XML set was done such a long time ago... Two
questions
1) Does AOO handle the abbreviations the same way as CLDR? For example,
if CLDR has dd/MM/yyyy but the AOO has DD/MM/YYYY, does that produce the
same output?
2) If it says
default="false"
does that mean the format is ignored completely or just not the default
format?
I may have to tweak, depending on the answer to either question, sorry.

The file attached to the issue built fine. Do you need to update it, or
can it be committed as is (attached here with small changes: license
header, LF, xmlindent)?

By the way, can you let me know when you've grabbed the files so I can
take them off the server again? Thanks.
It does not appear as if the locale issue was solved in 3.4.0 (which was
the first AOO release, unless I'm mistaken) so I suspect it will need
fixing for 3.4.1

existing strings or we'll end up with one big mess (the problem I
describe down below about the help files also applies to a lot of the
files currently in pootle for Gaelic)
Before you ask, yes, I had most of that ready anyway but no, there is no
license issue as it's all my own translation anyway. There used to be a
patial translation from way back but it was so bad I worked from clean
files.
Which brings me onto another point, I would recommend that the help
files be either wiped clean or removed completely. What's up there right
now is a really bad upload of some pre-matching - open any file and
you'll see what I mean, for example "Spreadsheet values from Calc cell
ranges" is "Cliath-dhuilleag" (which means spreadsheet) or "Values that
you enter in the Chart Data Table dialog (you can create these charts in
Writer, Draw, or Impress, and you can copy and paste them also to Calc)"
is "Luachan Cairt-iùil Dàta Clàr Tarraing agus agus gu" which means
"values chart data table draw and and to". So the current % give a
totally wrong impression and would be more of a hindrance than a help.
In any case, my locale is so small that there is no way the help files
will ever get translated, it's just SO low down the list of priorities.
The other thing is, is there a way of checking if the locale xml for
Scottish Gaelic has been added? I remember that in the last released
version, Gaelic didn't have any associated locale XML (for currencies,
date format etc etc). If not, we can either use what's on CLDR

have to do a smaller one if you let me know what needs to be in it.
