Choosing a content management system for Airavata Django Portal

Hi Devs,

I am planning to integrate a content management system into the existing
Airavata Django Portal to solve some major problems of Airavata PHP Gateway
Portal.

*The external gateway clients who are leveraging our PHP Gateway Portal
want to add custom styles, images and static pages to their portal.
Airavata PHP Portal on its own doesn’t support adding these features
dynamically by a gateway admin. Instead, the Airavata team has to take this
task of adding new pages, applying custom themes and styles to the default
portal according to the client requirements, test and deploy them to
production. If the end client wants any changes to their portal
application, they will again request the Airavata team. The team will make
the changes, test and deploy them to production. This whole process is
cumbersome, time taking and not ideal. *

Airavata Team solved this problem partially by creating themes for each
gateway clients. Still, maintaining these themes cannot be solely done by
external gateway admins and ultimately should be handled by Airavata team.

To overcome this problem, I am considering open source CMS frameworks which
best fit the Airavata Django Portal. I finally chose two CMS frameworks
which are open source, Apache Compatible and are a good fit for Airavata
Django Portal. I had written a paper on choosing between these frameworks.
you can find the paper in this email attachment.

Please share your ideas and suggestions on this topic. Always welcome to
any suggestions.

Thanks
Stephen
