Fwd: nant on debian stretch

I just sent the following to the nant-developers mailing list.

Hi there,

I'm reaching out to you wearing the hat of the ASF log4net developers
because we noticed that nant is no longer available on debian stretch [1].

Can you help us understand what the reasons are? Are there any plans to
make nant available again? Is there an alternative package repository
available to install nant on debian stretch?

Hi Ryan,

thanks for your fast feedback. debian so far used nant 0.92 rc1 and it can
be that the package maintainer did not produce a package yet. I found this:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?maint=pkg-cli-apps-team%40lists.alioth.debian.org

So it seems there are a few things related to nant that prevent them from
putting that package into the distro. Would you like to reach out to
pkg-cli-apps-team? It would be great for us to make nant fit for use again.

I wasn't responsible for the deb package in Debian's software repo. I dont
ever recall building a deb package for them. They may have stopped because
there haven't been any releases in years and it's hardly used in any
current open source .net projects anymore, besides this one. Best bet is
to use one of the prebuilt tarballs over at sourceforge.

Hope this helps,
Ryan
