For test purpose, you can run it at your computer. So 2 GB of disk and 2 GB
of memory should be fine. For production, it really depends on your use
case. Just like Kevin explained.
I have a NIFI instance which is "only" handling file transfer, from
different sources. This is a virtual machine with 4 CPU and 8 GB Mem and 4
Disks.

Hi Ricky,

NiFi is a data processing tool. The system requirements are almost entirely
dependent on your specific use case: how much data will flow through NiFi
and what type of processing will be done on it? For that processing, how
will it utilize cpu, memory, disk, network, etc?

NiFi itself takes up a few GB of space, both on disk and in memory at
runtime, but that is likely not very useful when sizing machines for a NiFi
deployment. Sizing for NiFi is a similar process to sizing a database. In
that case you would care about how much data do you plan to store and what
types of queries will be executed against it, not the size of the database
binaries themselves. Same for NiFi.
