[jira] [Commented] (METRON-1402) Run Stellar Management Functions
from Zeppelin

Nick Allen commented on METRON-1402:
------------------------------------
As a quick note, it is possible to run the Management functions in Zeppelin today. It just requires some additional manual setup that is not documented anywhere. That setup looks like the following. Of course, replace 0.4.3 with the version of Metron that you are using.
1. Follow the README to install the Stellar Zeppelin Interpreter.
2. In Zeppelin > Interpreters > Stellar, set the zookeeper URL property.
{code:java}
zookeeper.url = localhost:2181
{code}
3. In Zeppelin > Interpreters > Stellar, set the following additional dependencies.
|artifact|exclude|
|org.apache.metron:metron-management:0.4.3| |
|org.apache.metron:metron-common:0.4.3| |
|io.thekraken:grok:0.1.0|org.apache.commons:commons-lang3|
|org.apache.commons:commons-lang3:3.2| |
> Run Stellar Management Functions from Zeppelin

>
> Key: METRON-1402
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/METRON-1402
> Project: Metron
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Reporter: Nick Allen
> Assignee: Nick Allen
> Priority: Major
>
> A user should be able to use the Metron Management functions (CONFIG_GET, CONFIG_PUT, etc) from a Zeppelin Notebook. This would allow the user to manage their Metron cluster from within a Zeppelin Notebook.
> This would involve at least the following (if not more)...
> * A user needs to be able to configure a Zookeeper URL for the Stellar session backing their Zeppelin Notebook.
> * A user needs to be able to add the `metron-management` Stellar functions to the interpreter's classpath
