Which version of uimaFIT? Did you try the latest 2.2.0 RC?

I do not know if this is really a ruta problem or rather a solr classpath configuration problem, but it worked just fine if the analysis angine is integrated with its xml descriptor in a pipeline. It failed with a ClassNotFound when the analysis engine is loaded within ruta.
