I think since region overlapping behavior is not
defined in the spec--we discussed earlier--listing
this example may lead people to rely on
processor-dependent behavior.  The graphic idea you
gave is probably better.

Images can lock quite a bit of memory. Anyone out
there to profile and compare the solutions?
