Just install alien package, then from command line:
$ alien -i /path/to/filename.rpm
There are lots of other command line options, for example, maybe you
just want to create a .deb from the RPM and then install that or share
it with others.
I've installed the CollabNet RPM on every Ubuntu version since 7.04
without problems. Also installed it on Debian.

It installs the same way as the RPM -- to folder
/opt/CollabNet_Subversion. So you need to do this:
$ export PATH=/opt/CollabNet_Subversion/bin:$PATH
$ svn --version
This is in the readme for the RPM

It was the missing alias, once I setup a soft link to the /opt/Co...
it seems to be working.
Now I get to find the magic for my server, it too is 1.5.small

Check dpkg -L. The collabnet packages install into

The program 'svn' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
apt-get install subversion
bash: svn: command not found
root@core:/home/pfarrell/incomming# collabnetsubversion-client
bash: collabnetsubversion-client: command not found
Nor is there a collabnetsubversion-client that I can just softlink to svn
The /var/log/dpkg.log says
2009-11-09 14:58:18 status installed collabnetsubversion-client 1.6.6-2
Clearly I'm missing something basic.
