Status of "autobeans" in Struts

I can see in the mail list that the inclusion of Thors "autobean" into Struts is still under consideration, but in the dev list and in Ted's clippings form the mail list I get the impression that it has been implemented already (refering to the section "Automatic/Extended Properties, autobeans").  Has it been tested / examined?  has anyone found any problems with using it?
