The Javadocs for AbstractFileConfiguration describe the behavior of the load()
methods:

"Note that the load() methods do not wipe out the configuration's content before
the new configuration file is loaded. Thus it is very easy to construct a union
configuration by simply loading multiple configuration files [...]."

But maybe this is not demonstrative enough? Will see if I can add similar
paragraphs to AbstractHierarchicalFileConfiguration and perhaps
XMLConfiguration, too.
