Was able to test various permutations of pre-1.5 templates and flow.xml systems.  I had done some custom handling of fields and transforms.  After looking through the 1.5 libraries, however, it seems that bringing the core libraries in sync handles the mappings of these items between versions and brings less minifi specific logic into the codebase.  Will wait for a 1.5 release and further verify.
