derby dev lunch in San Francisco yesterday

Hi,

Rick, Mike, Lilly, Dag, Kathey and I met for an enjoyable
bring-your-own lunch in San Francisco yesterday.

We touched lightly on what everyone had been up to in our various paid jobs.
Dag and Rick mentioned giving talks on Derby at Java One, and an
honorable mention during the Key Note Speech.
We discussed ideas about moving away from CDC/J2ME towards an emerging
Java platform for (smallish) devices, but there was concern regarding
existing dependencies and availability of this platform before making
this move.
We also discussed the upcoming contribution of completely reworked
message file translations. Sadly those won't include Russian, Polish,
Hungarian, Czech...
We further discussed a possible future 10.9 point release at some
point, and a 10.10 release, maybe early next year.

Unfortunately, we completely forgot to pull out our handy devices to
take pictures.
