   @leventov You say that the target audience is regular (which I take to mean "frequent") Druid contributors. But I presume we would like all contributors to read it, perhaps only for a minute or two, and take away something useful. As it stands, there is a risk that it gives the impression that if you don't follow all of these guidelines, your contributions are not welcome.
   
   As I'm sure you agree, It's very harmful to the project to give newcomers the impression that they are not welcome. Community over code.
   
   These problems can be fixed by adding a clear preface that these are just guidelines, that there is a much shorter document that contributors should read, and that contributors don't have to read this one.
   
   Regarding Gian's suggestion of a shorter, more digestible form. I find that slides are a good medium for policy. As an added bonus, you can give a talk from the same source material. This encourages you to think about your audience, add humor and rationale to the points you are making, to structure the material so that it can be consumed in a linear fashion, and to move the secondary points off each slides and into the speaker's notes.
