Problems in installing Apache-soap samples

I have been trying to install the apache-soap samples and whenever I try to restart Tomcat I get a "Unable to generate Apache auto configuration file - NullpointerException ....."
Has anyone come across this problem?? 

I had modified the server.xml and added a new context for the samples.
