Template topology and expression language

Hi All,
I'm thinking to build the template topology consisting of filter,group and
counter bolts . To allow a customization I want to use expr. language like
MVEL or SpEL within these bolts. This approach allows quickly change or
enhance the existing  topology behaviour or create new topologies.
What do you think about that approach? Trident vs. this solution?
Pros vs. Cons :-).
