   @ashb we were seeing similar behavior last week where one of our jobs was stuck in `shutdown` state over the weekend. Do you think it makes sense to go ahead with the proposed fix of checking for zombie processes in `shutdown` state as well?
   
   The task got stuck after being externally terminated, most likely due to node-rollover or spot-instance termination. If there is any additional information we can provide to debug how it happens in the first place, we can do that as well.
