ApacheCon / Hackathon / Blockathon
Guys,
a decision is still missing. Looking at this table...
http://wiki.apache.org/cocoon/Blockathon?highlight=%28blockathon%29
..it seems to me that meeting up at the
ApacheCon is the consensus. So if we want
to extend the official ApacheCon Hackthon
by one day we need to talk to the ApacheCon
planners and Ben ASAP!
WDYT?
cheers

+1 for me.
BTW, I totally agree with the comment on the wiki page: "(editing these
tables in the wiki feels like eating soup with fork ;-)". ROTFL!

I'm near Stuttgart (Reutlingen to be exact) since the beginning of this year.
But I guess I can not help much as I have not been in Stuttgart except at the
station in these 4 months.

I will arrive in Stuttgart at Saturday evening (16th of July) by train and I
will stay in http://smg.nethotels.com/english/pflieger which is located at the
center of Stuttgart, rather close to the main station and the conference venue.
I reworked http://wiki.apache.org/cocoon/Blockathon so that it reflects the
latest information about venues and participants. Please review and add your

Ok ...so the guys from http://100days.de
will be sponsering the meeting room on sunday.
They provide free internet access, a projector
and even some coffee :)
They asked if it would be possible to have a
small informal cocoon presentation (not more
than 30 minutes). That's not a requirement - but
I think that should be no problem ...and it would
be a nice thankyou.
Anyone stepping up?

Hi Torsten,
the forrest community is as well looking for a place to make some

It's not 100% clear which hotel will be reserved for the speakers.
Chances are that it will be the Maritim.

Maybe we should talk about our goals for the Blockathon first. From my POV these
are:
- What's a block?
- What's Cocoon core?
- How to implement real blocks? Consider different alternatives like
Eclipse OSGi implementation, Pier's kernel, etc. talk about the pros and
cons.
- Look at our code base and find ways how to do it
It was my impression too that we were aiming for a full Sunday but I think that
many of us are not too enthusiastic about it because this would mean travelling
on Saturday. So maybe we can find a compromise and start the blockathon on
Sunday evening (e.g. at 6pm) and work on the first two questions.
If we are more than let's say 5 people we should try to get a seminar room in a
hotel so that we have a flip chart and maybe a beamer. (Will anybody stay in a
seminar hotel?)
If we are less than 5 people we don't have to prepare anything and only find a
place (restaurant, pub, ...) where we can talk undisturbed.
