[ANNOUNCE] Apache PDFBox 1.7.0 released

The Apache PDFBox community is pleased to announce the release of
Apache PDFBox version 1.7.0. The release is available for download at:

    http://pdfbox.apache.org/download.html

See the full release notes below for details about this release.

Release Notes -- Apache PDFBox -- Version 1.7.0

Introduction
------------

The Apache PDFBox library is an open source Java tool for working with PDF
documents.

This is an incremental feature release based on the earlier 1.x releases.
This release contains many improvements and fixes especially related to
performance, resource usage and rendering. The most significant
new feature is the new non sequential parser.

This version also includes the new PDF/A preflight module. Due to some unfinished
refactoring we decided to release them source only. Uncomment the commented entries
in the reactor pom to build your own jars.

For more details on these changes and all the other fixes and improvements

PDFBox issue tracker at https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PDFBOX.

Figured it out - needed fontconfig and at least one font. Thanks.

Hmm, builds fine on my F17 box too, but fails in the minimal mock chroot
environment. So I guess that there is some missing dependency there, but I'm
not sure what. Perhaps some font data?

The same, but I'm using mvn-rpmbuild in order to build the pdfbox rpm. See
the attached spec file. Build with rpmbuild -ba pdfbox.spec. This ensures
that it is built against system versions of needed libraries. There are some
modifications that are needed to make this work as well.

I tried the same and it worked for me. I used a fresh installed fedora 17

Yes it's the same build environment. Any other debug information that would
be useful?

It worked for me on win 7. Did you use the same environment to build pdfbox
1.6.0 and 1.7.0?

I should note that I am able to build PDFBox 1.6.0 fine with openjdk 1.7.0, so
this is a new problem with PDFBox 1.7.0.

I see *lots* of these tracebacks.

Works for Fedora 16 though with openjdk 1.6.0. There may be other differences
as well. Anyone else try building with Java 7?
