    Resolution: Won't Fix

Well, the maintenance burden of Debian packaging for NetBeans is simply too high, and the results are questionable as the packagers has to comply with the Debian policies. Simply it is not feasible, and probably it would be even better for NetBeans if the current Debian package would be removed from the repositories.

As the maintainer of the Snap packaging, I can tell that the Snap package is not slower at all than the zip one. NetBeans runs in a so called "classic confinement" which means it is not sandboxed at all.

About the slowness of the Snap packages. The UI ones were moslty slow due to a bug that caused the fontconfig reset itself on every start. That one has been solved half a year ago see:
[https://snapcraft.io/blog/snap-startup-time-improvements] but as I've said that does not affect classic, non sandboxed packages.
