Hmm, to differ from 1.3 may have originally been a bug.  But now it has to be a
2.x feature: changing it now would do more harm than good.  I'll treat this as
a minor documentation bug, and add a note to the description of DOCUMENT_URI. 
Note that REQUEST_URI does show the original request, at least in recent
versions.
