mod_perl 2.0.8 test failure

Hello,

I am trying to get mod_perl 2.0.8 running with Perl 5.20.2 on Debian 8. When I am running the tests I get:

/myPath/applications/httpd/bin/httpd  -d /myPath/sources/mod_perl-2.0.8/t -f /myPath/sources/mod_perl-2.0.8/t/conf/httpd.conf -D APACHE2 -D PERL_USEITHREADS
using Apache/2.2.29 (prefork MPM)

waiting 120 seconds for server to start: .[Fri May 15 10:54:05 2015] [warn] PassEnv variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH was undefined
Modification of a read-only value attempted.
perl_parse: No such file or directory
[  error]
server has died with status 255 (t/logs/error_log wasn't created, start the server in the debug mode)
Terminated

The system recommends to re-compile mod_perl in debug mode. Interesting enough all tests pass wonderfully when running in debug mode. Once I re-compile without debug mode, the error is back again. I do not want to use the debug mode on a production machine.

Any idea how to debug this?

Best regards

Matthias Schmitt
