[jira] [Commented] (SPARK-6363) make scala 2.11 default language

Josh Rosen commented on SPARK-6363:
-----------------------------------

One reason to consider building with 2.11 by default in Jenkins and to switch 2.10 to a compile-only build is the better support for code coverage and static analysis tools in 2.11: we can use abide, scapegoat, scoverage, etc. with 2.11, but these tools don't work well / at all with 2.10.

> Mostly all libraries already moved to 2.11 and many are starting to drop 2.10 support. So, it will be better if Spark binaries would be build with Scala 2.11 by default.
