Disabling XML Document validation in Cocoon

Is there a mechanism to disable "validating" the document?  I noticed that
the Parsers that cocoon uses have ability to manipulate "Features" by use of
setFeature().  How are these features specified for Cocoon ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
