Obtaining admin permissions on PGA
Hello All,
For a locally installed PGA connected to a locally installed airavata
server instance, I'm currently using the hosted Airavata WSO2 for identity
management.
I would like to register new compute resources via the PGA. Although my
user has an 'admin' role, I am unable to find the 'Register' menu. How do I
obtain the admin status? Also, do I need to setup up my own WSO2 Identity
Server?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nachi,
Airavata server can cater multiple gateways. You can assume a pga
deployment as a gateway. In addition to these gateways there is one gateway
called super gateway which can be used to do several special things like 1.
creating new gateways, 2. registering compute resources, 3. registering
storage resources etc.
I have done some changes to the pga.config.template where I have added a
new field called super-admin-portal [1]. So if you set this to true you
will be able to register computer/storage resources.
In addition to that you don't need to create a new tenant in our hosted
wso2 IS. The default configuration in the pga.config (tenant id
master.airavata) is created to the cater the requirements of developers and
test users.

Hi Nachi,
In the current master there are some issues related to tenant management
and registering compute resources. We are working on this and will update
you

Hello,
Upon further reading up, it is my understanding that the Airavata Identity
server uses the multi-tenant feature of WSO2. And as Supun and Suresh have
noted in earlier threads, if somebody wishes to use the SciGap Identity
server, a new "tenant" needs to be setup and only the tenant's admin can
access PGA features such as 'register compute resource'.
If my comprehension is right, I would need to choose a tenant domain and a
user name to be made the admin.
Here's my selection:
domain: test.acrodelon
admin username: master
I hope the "Super tenant admin" can set up a tenant for my testing
purposes. Also, it would be great to have these aspects documented. Would
love to help with it.
Thanks,
Regards,
