What is happening about the coffee rewrite?

Are there still plans to rewrite the GUI in coffee?

Many (most) of the outstanding issues relate to the GUI.

These are currently stalled.

The plan is to replace our current UI with one that's more easily
extendable, yep. The coffee UI allows you to inherit a class (like a
list view or an email display method) and build upon that, register is
as a new model and have people use that model (like classic view, social
view, compact view or threaded/tree-view/single-email displays)

This also means we would ideally only have to fix the basic bugs in one
place, and the classes that inherit these bugs will also be fixed.

With regards,
Daniel.

So is it definitely going to replace the current UI?
Or will some other framework be used?

I don't have any plans (nor the time) to finish the rewrite before the
next release, I'd expect it to be completed in August/September. People
are more than welcome to work on fixing the existing UI, it shouldn't
hold that back, there are lessons to be learned for the rewrite there as
well.

With regards,
Daniel.
