The DataImportHandler code for delta updates creates a separate copy of each datasource for each entity in the document. This creates a separate JDBC connection for each entity. In some relational databases, connections are a heavyweight resource and their use should be limited.

A JDBC pool would help avoid this problem, and also assist in doing multi-threaded DIH indexing jobs.
