Felix/OSGi Meetup at ApacheCon US 2009

Hi,

we already have our own track at the ApacheCon US this year. But what
about a meetup? During the past conferences other projects did
successful meetups at the ApacheCon - and I think it makes sense to do
this for Felix as well.

The meetups take place during the evening (we have sunday, monday,
tuesday and thursday evening) and it will be up to us to define its
content :) This can range from a bof style sit together to a organized
programm with talks - anything inbetween is of course possible as well.

So what's the general opinion?

If we do a meetup I think tuesday evening is best.

WDYT?
Carsten

+1 here too for both doing BOFs at the end of our "OSGi day" and doing
some kind of meetup. I would love to try Robert's suggestion and try
to hookup groups over the internet, doing a distributed BOF!

Content wise I think some kind of topic and agenda for each BOF would
be nice, even though I think we should at least leave all BOFs open to
contributions by attendees.

I would like to see a BOF demonstrating real-world uses of OSGi
technology, where people can showcase what they've done and give a bit
of technical background, post mortems, war stories, etc.

Greetings, Marcel

definitely +1

it'd be great to do some sort of distributed BOF with ad hoc groups
hooking up over the internet (but i'm not sure about the
practicalities)...

Hi Carsten,

Definitely +1

Experience from past ApacheCon shows, that the OSGi BOF was very well
welcomed. So we might want to have something semi-structured: Basically
BOF but people could "pre-register" if they want to present something.

Felix
