Large data handling with SOAP

I plan to create a servlet which will make calls to SOAP services.
One this SOAP service can return big files (severals MB).

I'd like to know if I can avoid loading the entire file in the servlet
memory before returning it to the user.
I'm having troubles to see how a RPC mechanism can scale when it's
returning large data...
