Running file-transfer tests against local server
Hi everyone,
cordova-vm is still down and no one knows when it is going to be back up, so I guess it's time to get things rollin' ourselves.
You can now run file transfer plugin tests against locally deployed server using Paramedic which will download and deploy file server automatically every time you test a file transfer plugin.
Please note though that right now only the master version of the plugin knows how to work with local server.
node cordova-paramedic/main.js --platform android --plugin https://github.com/apache/cordova-plugin-file-transfer --cleanUpAfterRun
If you don't want to use Paramedic, you can deploy file server locally and then specify its address while installing cordova-plugin-file-transfer-tests:
cordova plugin add ../cordova-plugin-file-transfer/tests --variable FILETRANSFER_SERVER_ADDRESS=http://10.0.0.2:5000
Please note that the 'http://' bit is required.
Thanks,
Alexander Sorokin

Ideally we'd get Apache infra to fix up the VM, and we could build
some bandwidth caps into it and better monitoring into the instance to
get some more visibility into the situation should it go off the rails
again.
In the mean time, we should look at alternatives. I'll look into
hosting an alternative endpoint on some different hardware for now.
Maybe we can find a gracious corporate sponsor to host a modest
instance for us somewhere... :fingers_crossed:
