[jira] [Created] (ASTERIXDB-1761) Default compiler.joinmemory setting: 5 frames is enough when excluding big object test cases

Taewoo Kim created ASTERIXDB-1761:
-------------------------------------

Summary: Default compiler.joinmemory setting: 5 frames is enough when excluding big object test cases
                 Key: ASTERIXDB-1761
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ASTERIXDB-1761
             Project: Apache AsterixDB
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Taewoo Kim
            Assignee: Yingyi Bu

Currently, for the test framework (asteirx-build-configuration.xml), the compiler.joinmemory value is 5. To solve ASTERIXDB-1566 and ASTERIXDB-1733 issues, the compiler.joinmemory will be temporarily increased to 8 to consider big object test cases, too. This was necessary because now the hash table size is accounted for in the budget. For normal cases, 5 is enough. So, it could be nice to have a functionality to override the default setting for a specific query case.
