    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-7871?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17092958#comment-17092958 ]

Wes McKinney commented on ARROW-7871:
-------------------------------------

I'm working on a plan (as discussed on the mailing list) that will make exposing kernels in Python (or bindings) substantially easier, so I assigned this to myself for now

> [Python] Expose more compute kernels
> ------------------------------------
>
> Key: ARROW-7871
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-7871
> Project: Apache Arrow
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Python
> Reporter: Krisztian Szucs
> Assignee: Wes McKinney
> Priority: Major
>
> Currently only the sum kernel is exposed.
> Or consider to deprecate/remove the pyarrow.compute module, and bind the compute kernels as methods instead.
