[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-12270) builtin personality is too hadoop specific

Allen Wittenauer created HADOOP-12270:
-----------------------------------------

Summary: builtin personality is too hadoop specific
                 Key: HADOOP-12270
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-12270
             Project: Hadoop Common
          Issue Type: Sub-task
            Reporter: Allen Wittenauer

As I work on TAP support and getting Hadoop to use it for shell unit tests, I'm finding that the builtin personality is way too Hadoop (and maybe Apache) specific.

For example, if test-patch sees a .c file touched, why is it adding a javac test?
