kafka 0.7.2 + scala 2.9

I've been using a kafka jar from clojars for a java project. I'd like to
try something with a more up-to-date scala, but the kafka jar is built for
scala 2.8. I seem to recall in discussions about kafka 0.7.2 with scala 2.9
that a number of people have built their own jars and put them in private
maven repos. Is there anything available in a public repo?
