Tapestry 5.5.0 and later compiles against Hibernate 5.1.1.Final. Later Hibernate versions are not [officially|https://tapestry.apache.org/supported-environments-and-versions.html] supported. So, technically speaking, not a bug. Perhaps support for newer Hibernate versions can be added in a future Tapestry release.
