Web service : Initial Parameters

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to set some initial parameters in the XML
deployment descriptor for a web service (like we can do for a servlet for
example)? If so, how does the method exposed as a web service access those
parameters? In my case, the method exposed as a web service might need to
access a database and it would need the userid/password supplied as init.
