$r->ap_auth_type not found?

Anyone know why I would get the following "ap_auth_type" not found sort 
of error message?  I am trying to set it with the standard 
 $r->ap_auth_type($auth_type).  From the docs, it seems like 
ap_auth_type is in Apache::RequestRec, which I have 'use'd.  Any ideas?

You need to use the latest cvs, where it was implemented.
