more nntp doesn't work, this time authrequired

not only TLS but also.. <authRequired>true</authRequired> does nothing(?) I
can still access the server with no username or password.

code asked for config for child "nntphandler" but config.xml had child
"handler".

Well, I don't know what I did differently this time, but plain nntp on
James works fine (with Netscape Messenger as client)
Will try nntps and auth when I get a chance.

Another reason for failure could be the NNTP Client. Different clients may
follow different NNTP drafts. I have tested with outlook express, and so has
Danny. Outlook express does seem to be able to use NNTP in some form. Peter
Donald mentioned that Pine does not work. I guess it is a issue of trying
different clients and troubleshooting.

Erm on my Linux box, with James running as root (bad I know) I used the
default settings and it worked Ok.

I did notice that it creates its nntp directories in /var/ not relative to
the James distro, therefore permissions might just
make it unworkable if it can't write to /var/

When I had a quick look, I couldn't get nntp to work let alone nntps.
Do you fancy writing a quick howto on the nntp server?
