I tried to improve the spacing for menu items in the Speyside theme for the next release. I attached a screenshot to TOBAGO-374 to show the current state. Do you think the spacing is sufficient.
If it is not necessary to change the size of a single menu item I would close this issue and refer to the other one.
Pointers for writing your on theme are included in the FAQ:
http://myfaces.apache.org/tobago/faq.html#tobago/owntheme
But in this case it looks like it would be better to repair/improve the existing theme.

The idea is that the theme controls the spacing of menu items. If you write your own theme ( for example by extending an existing one) you can influence the spacing.
Do you have a concrete use case, where the height of a single menu item has to be changed? I can currently not think of any classical desktop application which does such a thing.
