Mike,

Spring support scopes and in particular a "singleton" scope (see http://www.springframework.org/docs/reference/beans.html#beans-factory-scopes)

The only thing I can think of is is to have a test case that verifies that a Spring bean with scope="singleton" works correctly inside an assembly used in an <implementation.spring> and is correctly injected with an SCA reference.
