It'd be good to provide a typed indexing default so that properties of a certain type can be mapped to certain Solr dynamic fields with dedicated types. The infrastructure for doing that is already in place as per OakSolrConfiguration#getFieldNameFor(Type) but the default configuration is not properly set with a good mapping.
