I'm glad to see this bug has been scheduled for fixing for 1.1-beta2.
Thanks for taking the time to fix.
However, I'd quite like to get something working in the meantime. Would
anyone be able to suggest a temporary work around?

At this point, no investigation has been done that would offer a
workaround or solution (or even confirm whether it really is a bug), sorry.
