    Resolution: Not A Bug
      Assignee: Robert Scholte

This is not a bug of the {{maven-deploy-plugin}}, but much more likely a Maven core issue, since the plugin contains no code for credentials or decryption.

> When I use an encrypted password in my settings.xml that deploy-file fails with error code 401 when I deploy to a Nexus repository (Nexus 1.8.0). If I put the plain text password in my settings.xml file then it works fine.
