HTML/XHTML serializer

I think that the:

private static boolean _xhtml;

in HTMLSerializer should be non-static.

I am a newbie (I have lurked for a week) so would appreciate:

(a) being corrected if I'm wrong,
(b) being corrected if I should have done something other than E-mailing the
list when I noticed it.

And then if (a) or (b) occurs, I will apologize and lurk more before I say
anything. :)
