default encoding in Tomcat

Hi
i want to know what is the default encoding format in Apache Tomcat? We
are under the assumption that it is Shift_JIS. Could someone tell me if
it is correct?

Thanks

AFAIK, there is no default for Servlets. The JSP spec specifies that the
default is iso-latin-1.
