[jira] Commented: (OPENJPA-264) Not calling finalize() method of data cache plug-in when application terminates.

Patrick Linskey commented on OPENJPA-264:
-----------------------------------------

org.apache.openjpa.datacache.DataCache extends the Closeable interface. When the EMF shuts down, Closeable.close() will be invoked on the data cache instance. You should be able to do any shutdown logic there.

finalize() will be invoked by the JVM at it's discretion.

> When a third party data (and query) cache is configured, the finalize() method in these classes should be called (if provided) to give the plug-ins a chance to release the resource the application has been using.
