SVNSERVE as service under Win2000?
Hi all out there!
Searching the archive I found that snvserve would not really run as
service under Win2000 (yet), not even even with helper program
XNET. However, the messages I found were some months old.
So my question if that has already changed. In v0.25 I could run
svnserve in a DOS box, but it would not return to the prompt and
could be terminated by CTRL-C only. This is OK for experimental
but not daily use here.
Or would Apache generally be the server of choice for Windows
systems?
TIA - God bless!
Jan Hendrik

That would be quite great, Brandon. Dunno about *nix systems, but
as Windows user I must admit a native server bundled with
Subversion and not needing big setup of its own but optionally
running transparently as service in the background would make
things a lot easier. I had no difficulty to run svnserve in its own
DOS box and then doing some svn commands in another, but
setting up Apache as server for fool-proof everyday use with its
bunch of own configuration gives me additional (mild) headache.
Finally, I have to master *two* new apps *and* define toolbars in
Homesite *and* teach co-workers using SVN/TortoiseSVN.

Well, I've been meaning to contribute a patch for running svnserve as a
service. Maybe this is my inspiration to get off my butt and do it.
