geronimo-ra.xml question

I've written my on ResourceAdapter

Must I set a parentId in  geronimo-ra.xml ? And if yes, which one ?

Based on the ActiveMQ resource adapter here:

it appears that there is no longer a need to set a parentId. Though
searching the resource adapter descriptors in the Geronimo source, I
see that there are a few being used in tests that contain the old and
out-dated parentId.
